This creates a deter-push sensation. The dyno graph below shows the difference between a stock Midget and what can be achieved without going totally crazy on the engine build. Now if we could just get it to stop…. I've enjoyed the novelty of the supercharger. I have had two different mechanics look at it without any improvement. The head came back shortly thereafter looking a lot sweeter than before.

Others I have ask just appear puzzled. Your description of a "lumpy" idle and all that sounds really cool, and fits my likes perfectly. For chrome-bumper machines, install a new alternator and pulley; for rubber-bumper cars, fit only a new alternator pulley. The the supercharger hits a HP wall much sooner than a turbo because you are using some of your available HP to run the compressor. However, then you run into problems with turbo lag, but there is always a trade off. Sean was interested in demonstrating the value of properly executed cylinder head work. You may also like
Now, we know we can use inertia to dampen the low RPM vibrations of a reciprocating motor. More Power Stock, single-carburetor, rubber-bumper MGBs usually peak at a little more than 50 horsepower at the rear wheels. With the print deadline looming, we ran out of time to make a new pulley and retune the motor. What about real-world acceleration? A rubber-like material is used to bond the our weight to the inner hub, while absorbing vibrations. The good folks at Magnuson Products, having just completed the installation of a shiny new Mustang Dyno, were kind enough to let us come in and break a few parts. My set up is about as far as I can go and still be easy to drive on the street as a hot rod, carburetor fed Bugeye. This brings up a step that needs a little extra attention, as there are different flange thicknesses for various exhaust manifolds and headers. When used in conjunction with one of their analog AFR gauges, you not only see when things happen, but also to what degree.
